Remember previous settings on upgrade...

...is an already supported feature which we use on pretty much all of our shipped products/installers. It's very convenient for a customer just to go next->next->next->finish on updates without having to worry about the previous dude/dudettes options/settings during installation. But... Why don't yo...

Re: The following applications should be closed prompt

this is the new Restart Manager support in the new InstallAware X6. Clicking No on the dialog shown would fall back to default InstallAware X5 and earlier behavior (which would actually require a reboot). Clicking Yes would attempt to prevent a reboot by using the Restart Manager. Clicking Cancel w...

Re: Filebag problem in X2 - File Not Found.

...but I haven't changed any source paths? :?:.
The only path being changed, to my knowledge, is IA's program path (%ProgramFiles%\InstallAware\InstallAware X2\) after update.
Auto update was in fact attempted, but failed miserabely, but thats a topic for another thread

Re: Filebag problem in X2 - File Not Found.

Hello, I compared the web media archive (compiled with IA18) with the newly compiled one (in X2) and the paths are indeed different! :o As it seems the web media archives are IA version dependent. Why is this? Surely you can't expect us to maintain one set of downloadable media archives for each new...

Re: Filebag problem in X2 - File Not Found.

Yes, its all web media blocks, I forgot to mention that, I'm sorry. Almost all of my media blocks are built in IA18. Should that matter tho? It kinda scares me to be honest :o I was under the impression that the media blocks was IA version independent? Well well, I recompiled the installer and rebui...

Filebag problem in X2 - File Not Found.

When installing a missing runtime, i.e. VC++11, the files are successfully downloaded and extracted. However, when trying to install the runtime a different path is accessed, yielding 'FileNotFound' error. This happened after upgrade from 18.x to X2. No script changes has been made and is obviously ...

Re: Windows Firewall Plug-In

Have these been created by the plug-in?

Yes, all three. And all exceptions works.
Are the paths correct for the "delete allowed program" action (i.e. short names versus long names)?

Yep, checked and verified.

Re: Windows Firewall Plug-In

Hi, I'm running the Firewall Plugin 2.2.0.22 ( the version listed in Program/Features) , IA 15 and have problem removing the exception in Win7 Ent x64. I'm trying to remove three exceptions which all were successfully added during installation. The removal consists of two "delete allowed progra...

Re: Unable to extract .net 4.5

FYI,
I've installed the 4.5 framework using the downloadable from MS and it extracts everything to a root folder instead of using %temp%.
Maybe this is away of avoiding the problem...

Re: IA15 miabuild installer always run 32bit mode

You can put this one aside. After rewriting the IA related scripts (checkXXX, setupXXX) the problem vanished. Don't ask me why
