Greetings,
I have been referred to contact you by another company (ProFantasy.com) because they use your InstallAware product now as their installer for their many software products.
All of their products previously worked under CrossOver. However, since beginning to use InstallAware, none of their products will install that us it.
As an advocate for a number of products under CrossOver, I was hoping folks here would be willing to help us figure out how to resolve this issue.
Since InstallAware seems so far to be the bottle neck (so far), I am now also the advocate for your product in the Crossover products list:
https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=5964
CrossOver allows users of Mac and Linux operating systems to run software originally only written to run under Windows. It is based on the Wine project, with a number of enhancements, and a very active user and developer community.
Here is some information on the errors that occur during installations:
https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/browse/name/?app_id=5964;forum=1
Here is a reiteration of the basic error:
Loads the InstallAware Wizard dialog.
"The InstallAware Wizard is verifying the contents of this setup package. This may take a moment.
Show progress bar for a while, steadily progressing...
Finishes, that dialog progress bar, and shows another one:
"InstallAware Wizard"
"InstallAware is preparing InstallAware Wizard which will install this application. Please wait."
This show progress bar as well, slowly progressing...
When the progress bar gets to about halfway, an error message pops up:
"InstallAware Wizard"
"Runtime error in install: External exception 80000100".
I have tried this with versions of CrossOver ranging from 6.x to the latest 8.0.0. I next be trying it under plain Wine, to see if any luck there.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this? Does the error exception message help at all as a clue?
Thanks!

Interesting topic!
The error message isn't good news, though. External exception - meaning, some Windows API InstallAware is calling is flakily implemented on CrossOver.
CrossOver devs would be the right people to take this to, so they can improve their API support.
