Unicode filenames and web deployment

Postby benmatthew » Sat Nov 19, 2005 1:14 pm

There appears to be a bug with regards to unusual unicode filenames and the use of web media blocks to create installers.

I have a bunch of files I need to add to an installation and some contain special lithuanian characters. If I create a web based deployment solution and add these files to the project then all is well. However if I split the project into separate blocks, for different features, then when the installer attempts to extract the block I get a corrupt download error.

I notice in the build window as well that unicode characters are not correctly displayed; looks like an untranslated ANSI code instead. Don't know whether this is related.

For the time being I have reverted to using an uncompressed layout build but this is not ideal.

The version I am running is 2005 Studio, first edition.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Regards

As you have observed, unicode characters are not supported during the compression process. Sorry :(
