How to change the text in the verifying install package ....

Postby wirecad » Mon Nov 28, 2005 3:38 pm

How to change the text in the verifying install package and the InstallWare splash progress bar? I am trying to localize the project and can't seem to find these strings.

Thanks,
CBH

PS. Using IA Express

Did you run the Localization Wizard? At the last page of its process (after an export and import), it displays a button to translate global, shared strings. That's the button you want to click.

You may also translate shared strings by running the mTranslator.exe tool in the trans subfolder of your InstallAware folder.

I did run the localization wiz and exported the strings. Then ran the mTranslator.exe.

What I can't seem to find is the strings associated with the two splash progress bars that come up before install.

Thanks,

That is not the mTranslator I am talking about :)
There are two mTranslator's - one is to localize your setup specific strings, the other is to localize your global setup strings. You did the former, not the latter. Please follow the instructions I gave above to run the global one.

Now enters the frustration. I ran the localization wizard again and on the last screen is an option to: "Start Tool", it mentions nothing about "Global" strings.

I went to the Install Aware folder and found the mtranslator there to contain the strings. I have to build one and try it.

I apologize for the confusion. Please just run the mTranslator.exe file that is already existing in your <IA Folder>\\trans folder. That will take care of it.
