Authenticode Signing of Internal MSI

Postby DimHelmet » Mon Jun 01, 2015 2:49 pm

I am running InstallAware Studio 18.

I am trying to build a single .exe installer for an application being submitted to Microsoft for certification. I have the signing certificate working, and am having it sign all executables, but it still fails the Microsoft Platform Readiness testing on two files for the application "Project":

C:\Program Data\{GUID}\Project Setup.msi
C:\Users\All Users\{GUID}\Project Setup.msi

These are both the same file, just two linked locations containing the extracted files from the single .exe installer.

Any idea how to get it to sign these files? I've seen reference in other threads about creating a wrapper, but I'm not quite sure how to go about that. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Dear DimHelmet,

for what I recall this problem was fixed with version 18.08 of IA 18.

which is your IA version?
You can check the product version from control panel.

Anyway the other problem will be with your current personal activation file, if you are using a different IA version.
