Disable the Close Button?

Postby jfitz » Wed Jan 13, 2016 3:29 pm

Recently we upgraded a couple versions of Installaware. We are currently using Installaware Studio Admin X3.

The previous version of Installaware we had kept the close button in the top right-hand corner of the windows disabled by default. However that functionality has changed and is now enabled to allow the canceling of the setup. I need to disable the close button once more to match previous functionality. Is there a way to either disable the button or remove it?

Dear jfitz,

you can optionally omit to display the dialog's system buttons (setting the "biSystemMenu" dialog property using the dialog editor tool), but you cannot disable the Close system button.

It's the same with the Visual Studio resource editor.

Thanks for the speedy answer.

In that case, I noticed that clicking the red x seems to execute the "Cancel Setup" steps (please let me know if i am mistaken). Is there any way to change the text of the message box that is opened when "Cancel Setup" is run?

Dear jfitz,

you may try to localize your shared strings.
