We have begun using the Web Updates functionality in InstallAware X2 with the default updates.mia script and we discovered that when the scheduled task for web update checks are installed on the users system it gets installed with the Run only when user is logged on option checked. So when the user installs our software with the default update settings, i.e. check for updates at 3 AM every week on sunday, the update check therefore fails because no user is logged in (or even awake) at that time.
Ok, so this should be easily fixed by just unchecking the "Run only when user is logged on" option in the Schedule Task command in the updates.mia script, or so we thought. The task still gets installed with that option enabled. InstallAware doesn't seem to regard the checkbox at all. Are we missing something or is this a bug?
Web Updates / Schedule task
Re: Web Updates / Schedule task
Anyone?
I attached screenshots of how the Schedule Task command looks in IA and how the actual scheduled task in Windows Task Scheduler looks after installation (sorry about the Swedish language, but the option selected in windows task scheduler is called "Run only when user is logged on" in English).
