Hi all,
I am having some problem when a previous installation already exits,
when I try to install a newer version over the previous version, I get an error message that states the following:
A network error occurred while attempting to read the file:
C:\Users\{USER_NAME}\AppData\Local\Temp\mia1\{Product v1.x.msi}
where product v1.x.msi is the previous version of the software.
If I uninstall the software first, then the new Install succeeds.
Any ideas why this is happening ?
a Network error occurred while attempting to read the file

Are you changing product codes and/or revision codes?

Re: a Network error occurred while attempting to read the fi
You can't just "add one". You have to use well formed GUIDs and let the IDE create them for you, or manually create them using MS API's for GUID creation.
You have to ensure you have different revision codes for each package and possibly different product codes.
The help file describes the meanings of these codes. Give it a read.
If you are still having problems, post detailed, step by step instructions on how you got there.
