Installer Error about supposingly missing file

Postby mwilner » Fri Jun 20, 2014 1:35 pm

Hello,
I am experiencing occasionally that customers complain about an error that a file that should be installed to System32 or SYSWow64 can't be read or found.

What can cause this error on some PC's (in this case Win 7 and Win 8 x64) but not on most others with the same OS flavor?

Hope you can shed some light on this.
Best regards,

Dear User,

did you check if any anti-virus application or security policy, it is causing this problem on those machines?

I am also experiencing this issue. The compile of my installer runs file, but when I try install, the installer says that there are files missing. I have removed the files in my InstallAware project and re-added them, but with no luck.

The machine I'm trying to install on is a fresh Windows 7 32-bit on a Virtual Machine. No antivirus or anything. The installer was created using InstallAware Studio 15.

Please help. ^_^

Dear User,

if you post a very minimal project that replicates your issue, I'll try to verify it.

Dear Hannes,

to test your package, I need to receive all the files used by your project ... otherwise, I'll be not able to compile it.

Please also check if you can release a very minimal project that replicates your issue, instead of sending your original one.

In any case, please don't forget to include all the files used.
