.NET 4.5.1

Postby johnbyerly » Thu Jun 26, 2014 1:17 pm

We are using InstallAware 16.

We recently found a bug in our product that was related to .NET. Because of this bug, we need to install .NET 4.5.1, not because we need .NET 4.5.1, but because the version of .NET 4.0 that is packaged with .NET 4.5.1 fixes the bug. Apparently .NET 4.5 is packaged with 4.0.30319.17929. .NET 4.5.1 is packaged with 4.0.30319.18408.

This long-winded background is leading up to me asking how I can install .NET 4.5.1 instead of .NET 4.5. I tried clicking the Download Runtimes... button but it just takes me to the InstallAware forums.

Is .NET 4.5.1 available for InstallAware 16, and if so, how do I get it?

Thanks!

JAB

Dear JAB,

unfortunately, NET 4.5.1 has been made available with the release of InstallAware 18 and it is not available for IA 16.

Anyway, it is always possible to extend the default runtime list with creating your own custom runtime packages.
The document "Extending the Application Runtimes View " describes all the required steps.

Thanks, as always, for your help! I was able to get the .NET 4.5.1 install to work just fine.
