Write Registry Persist

Postby AdrianGray » Wed Aug 13, 2014 11:51 pm

Is there a way to write the value of variable into "String Value Data (REG_SZ) dialog? Is there a later version than the IA 9 one I have installed. Thanks, Adrian

Dear Adrian,

If I haven't missed anything... I suppose you want to pass a variable with the write registry command.

If true, the syntax for dereferencing a variable in InstallAware is enclosing the variable name between dollar signs. For instance, if the variable is called MYVAR, dereference the variable using $MYVAR$. You may freely combine multiple dereferenced variables in your string literals.

Is there a later version than the IA 9 one I have installed

The latest version is InstallAware 18.

Regards

Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to the Plugin: "Write Registry Persist" being for IA9, we are running IA18 for development. I have since managed to successfully use the inbuilt "Write Registry" function instead. Thanks, Adrian.
