Why compiler variable is not resolved

I try to set ProductVersion and ProductCode using compiler variable. But my compiler variables isn’t resolved in resulting msi. (see attached compiler_vars_not_resolved.jpg)

Downloaded “Title & version with a compiler variables” example from it and built it on my machine. Compiler variable wasn’t resolved here too (see attached compiler_vars_not_resolved2.jpg)

Why it is so? Is there some setting that disables usage of compiler variables?

I can only suppose that exist a problem locally with your machine.
For what I see by your screen-shots, the MSI Property table itself seems not populated correctly.
It looks like doesn't include all the expect properties, those that I found listed in the “Title & version with a compiler variables” compiled sample MSI.

At the end it seems that your MSI has not been generated correctly and for sure, there isn't anything that needs to be enabled, expecially if you used the “Title & version with a compiler variables” sample.

I may suggest you to verify if any intrusive Anti Virus application is at the source of the problem.
