Registry access error

Hi there,

Just today i have begun receiving errors with my setup package.

Error
Could not write VersionMajor top key \\Products\\C934...E4\\InstallProperties. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel

if i chose to ignor the error i get another

Error
Could not write VersionMajor top key \\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Uninstall\\{9CD..ProductCode..R4}. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

If i ignore again the setup completes.

Can anyone shed some light on what is the problem here?

Hi Richard

I believe you are using a non-numeric version number for your setup. Please make sure the version you are setting for your project is numeric only, of the form major.minor.revision, such as 1.0.2006.
