Hello,
Got two questions.
1) I went to your download page to see what the latest version is and it reports "Version: 15.51 Released to Manufacturing on: April 13th, 2013" Nice and easy to understand. I open InstallAware on my desktop and click on the version button to compare versions and see if I need to get a newer version and the popup screen tells me I have Version 15 (Build 11.03.12) Naquadria. How the heck does that equate to the version number on the web site? Can someone please explain to me how to determine if the versions are the same? Why is it laid out so differently on the download page and in the application?
2) Not criticizing just wondering, what is with the broken headed "robot?" in your logo? What message are you trying to convey? Isn't a broken robot a bad thing? I like your product just don't get the logo...
What version do I have?

Re: What version do I have?
Dear BlackNight,
#1 You can verify the version number of your installed IA product, by checking it in; "Control Panel -> Add Remove Program" or from the file version of the IA setup package (right click -> Property -> Details).
The IA IDE shows; The Major version and Build number.
About the IA 15 logo, please have a look at the following link;

Re: What version do I have?
1) Thanks for the location of the product version. Just wondering why the version displayed on the version screen is so different? Why not put the 15.5 on that screen?
2) Very cool now I have to inspect the website to find this answer!!!
Thanks
Paul

Dear BlackNight,
#1 > because as I said previously, currently with the IA version dialog only the major version is reported (... along with its build number).
I'll try to ask the dev team, if it will be possible to have even the minor version with it.

Re: What version do I have?
We are finishing up a release and I'm trying to make sure we have the latest Version of InstallAware 15. Add/Remove Programs says 15.2.3.2013, and the About Box says Build 12.12.12. I asked our sales rep and he said he couldn't tell me, and even if he could there's no way to get an update to InstallAware 15 even if there was one that had been released. I was just hoping to build our install with the latest 15 release in case there had been bug fixes we didn't have.

Re: What version do I have?
Dear Ohmylord,
The latest IA 15 version released was 15.51 (15.5.1.2013).
I can only suppose that probably you used a license file generated for a previous IA 15 version, to activate the effective product version you installed (... EACH IA VERSION INCLUDING UPDATES REQUIRES A SPECIFIC LICENSE FILE TO ACTIVATE THE PRODUCT).
Unfortunately, even if you will be able to install the latest IA 15 version, you need a license installer that is exactly synchronized in its version to activate the product.

Re: What version do I have?
Francesco,
Thanks for the reply. I guess now I'm confused about your update/bug fix process. Are you saying that when you purchase/license a version, 15.2.3.2013/Build 12.12.12 in our case, that's the one and only release you get for that version?
We are a software company and we provide free updates/bug fixes for our current version. When we introduce a new version we charge for upgrades to that version. However, we still make the updates to previous versions available in case a user's install DVD was say Version 12.0 and we had a 12.3 update (containing bug fixes and minor features). They can always download the 12.3 update even if they choose not to pay to upgrade to say Version 13.

Re: What version do I have?
Dear Ohmylord,
No, I didn't mean that. I only meant that each IA version requires a specific license file.
Minor product upgrades are always free, instead Major upgrades are free within three months of purchasing (date of order).
With my previous reply I was referring only to the fact that you need a license installer that is exactly synchronized in its version to activate the product.
If your license file has been emitted for IA 15.2, it will activate that specific version only.
Regards

Re: What version do I have?
Thanks again for the reply. Next question, how do I get a license installer for 15.5 assuming that's a free "minor" update I should be able to get for purchasing 15.2?

Re: What version do I have?
As I previously said;
... that was only possible at time that version was distributed.
