Hi Guys
I'm having problems setting the Environment Path on Windows Server 2012 R2. It works fine with 2012 and all other OS, just not this latest one. It simply does not update the path. Does anybody have any work arounds?
I am running InstallAware NX.
Thanks
Adam

Dear Adam,
did you try if you are able to set that Env variable from command line using SETX?
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755104.aspx
BTW, you can even use SETX from your script via RUN PROGRAM command.

Re: Server 2012 R2 - Environment Path
Hi
I haven't, I will give it a go or maybe just write it directly to the registry.
However, I downloaded the IA 18 demo to test it, and it's still not working on Server 2012 R2. Are you able to confirm if it works on that version?
Thanks
Adam

Re: Server 2012 R2 - Environment Path
Adam,
I've not tested setting PATH on 2012 R2 specifically, however I have an installer that is used on pretty much every server we deploy and I have no problems setting other machine variables. However, in all my projects which are using env.variables I need to "refresh" or the variable set is not picked up until next login. Could this be your problem?
See, viewtopic.php?f=2&t=9515
Just recently I did an installer with IA 18 and needed to set a machine variable, and I still needed to use CallDll in order to avoid logout/reboot before the variable appeared. Usually the newly added variables are visible via computer properties -> advanced -> envrinoment.. but no other processes will pick up the variable unless I'm issuing a SendMessageA.
I think IA should handle these calls for "refresh" whenever necessary.
