We use InstallAware 8 build different loads for each of customer. Each of the loads will contain different msi file. During testing, the installation keep failing on one machine because it always look different msi file which is different from the current one. There may be some residual from previous installation that were not cleaned properly when uninstalled.
Any suggestion what could happen ? and how we clean it up ? where InstallAware store information about the current installation ?
Your help is really appreciated.

Re: InstallAware is looking for wrong msi file
Dear User,
Honestly, it is not totally clear to me the problem you seem to have.
Anyway, if you are referring where the package stores its files at Runtime, these are stored under the current user temp directory ... and the same should be automatically deleted once the install process is completed.
Regards.

Re: InstallAware is looking for wrong msi file
We have two install files A.exe contains A.msi and B.exe contains B.msi. When we try to run A.exe, the installer failed because it is looking for B.msi. It should look for A.msi instead. We don't know the reason why. This machine is used for testing and is these apps are installed and uninstalled many times. We suspected that the previous uninstall may left something in the system that caused the new install to keep looking for previous information.
Hope this help.

Re: InstallAware is looking for wrong msi file
Dear User,
It sounds very strange what you are reporting.
The setup.exe file itself can execute its internal msi file only and it is quite impossible, to instruct it to execute any other MSI file.
I never faced a similar issue and I really believe that probably exist a problem with the machine you are using.
