Cannot Open Icon Error in Add-Remove Programs tab

Post by eddy2099 »

I am currently evaluating InstallAware Express. During one of my test build, in the Add-Remove Programs tab, I inevitably defined an invalid ICO file. Now each time I tried to get to that tab, it tells me about the error but does not allow me to actually get to that tab at all. Although the tab header change to reflect 'Add-Remove Programs', I cannot see or edit any of that page properties.

I need to get to that page to at least remove or replace the ICO file which is in error.

Is it possible to get InstallAware to actually just not display or remove the icon preview so I could get to that tab to make the necessary changes.

Thanks.

What you can do is this: copy an alternate icon.ico file into your project folder. This will make the tab show...

icon support

Can you please specify if there are any special rules for the icons that are valid for the application?

Are they limited to 32 x 32 and a certain number of bit planes?

Many thanks

A minimum standard icon should contain 1 each 256 Color 48x48,32x32 and 16x16.

You can also use high color icons, icons with alpha blending, or low color icons. There is no restriction whatsoever on the colors and resolutions - all are supported.

Make sure none of your project files are read only
