Two questions
First I have a lot of files that were put in my project after I created it. I then created a new feature. Almost all of my files went into that new feature. How do I move the files back into the original feature.
Second, my install project is built on a visual studio project. How do I update my files if my application changes. I am not talking about a patch. Just a change before my setup is completed. I see the scan but it does not use visual studio project. Can Installaware look into the references in my project just like a setup project in visual studio can.
files and features
To the first question :
make sure the "install files" commands for the common files appear before any "get component selection state" command in your script.
I don't work with the visual studio integration, but do the install files commands point to the release directory of you visual studio projects?

I don't have any common files.
Both features are distinct and do not share any files. I have not added the files for my second component
The funny thing is from the msi code, it looks like the files are being installed in the correct component. But in the files in design mode using the filter, they are in the wrong component.
i do use some get component selection state functions in my interview, because i need to display different dialogs based on the component selection. Can I do that?
As far as the second question.
Some of the files do point to the release directory. But not all of them. One of the best things with the standard setup projects in vs is the ability for it to "look" into you app and find out exactly what needs to be installed. It is not perfect, but most of the time it saves me from a trail and error looking through docs to find out which third party dlls need to be included.
I would like installaware to do the same thing. I know about scan but i have seen it including files from applications that are currently running but have nothing to do with my application.
