Add/Remove Programs should not display the product

Post by avbhoyar »

Is there a way in Install Aware where I can set MSI property ARPSYSTEMCOMPONENT to blank ("") so that the product does not display in the Add/Remove Programs?

I have InstallAware Studio 7 installed on my system. I tried setting everything to blank in Design->Add-Remove Programs. But that did not work. I am wondering if InstallAware Studio 7 had some way to set standard MSI properties. This would be a big plus.

The engine creates its own entry, you can delete it with Delete Registry.

What is the registry entry that should be deleted and when during the install process (using InstallAware)? I know how to do it using InstallShield or MSI. But InstallAware does not mention it anywhere in it's help. And I am currently using InstallAware. Also, can you be little verbose when you reply?

I have the same issue so what I have done is create a bat file and create a reg key that deletes the appropriate package entries. I convert this bat to an EXE, include in my package as a support file and set it to run post install. This has worked so far.
