Oracle Database Plug-In using Local Client

Post by Tiago »

Hi

I'm having a serious problem with the Oracle Database Script plugin. One of the requirements of my installer is to check if the target machine has the Oracle client installed, receive connection parameters from the user, validate them, and, finally, run several SQL scripts against the server specified by the user.

The problem is that, even though Oracle client is installed and SQL*Plus can connect with the database without any major issue, Oracle Database Script plugin doesn't. No matter what parameters I use with it, I get an "CONNECT_ERROR". What could this be? Does Oracle Database Script needs any specific client or configuration? Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Tiago,

I'd like to build an internal test framework to test this if I may - unforunatly this will take some time :(

Can you tell me the Oracle version you are using?

Hi, Neillans.

I'm using OraClient10g here. I am executing my scripts using command-line SQL*Plus, but I think this is a quite "dirty" way of doing things.
If you could please give me this little extra bit of information about the plug-in, I would be glad!

Thank you so very much!
