I have an installer that runs fine on vista and xp 64, but when I try to run on windows 7 64 it dies with the message "windows installer service could not be accessed". But, the installer service is running, and I can install other products made with other installer tools.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Also, I have to install vcredist (9.0) by hand as it fails when included in the installer. Any workaround for this?
Can't install on Windows 7 64 bit
Bummer!
Steve, did you install IA on Windows 7 64 bit? I had IA 9 installed on my development workstation (Windows Server 2008 R2)
A problem that I am having with the FILE BAG is that IADIR seems to not be getting the right directory to install the runtime. I suspect this might be related to IA being installed on Windows 7 x64 or Windows Server 2008 R2 - but I need to first find out if I'm nuts.
I'm procuring a Windows server 2008 development workstation (which worked in successfully building Windows 7 x64 pre-reqs just fine) to see if this is the case.
