Silent install fails on Windows 7 x64 machine.

I have a InstallAware package build using InstallAware 7.0. I am trying to install the package on a Windows 7 x64 bit machine and the install fails with 1601 error. The install package works fine on Vista x86 and Windows 7 x86 OSes. It is only an issue with x64 platform install. I have visited all MSI related forums and links including Microsoft and applied all possible solutions. Nothing worked. Here are the few sites I visited.

Hi there,

I've just experienced the same error on Win7 x64

Failed to connect to server. Error: 0x8007007F

Apparently that error means: ERROR_PROC_NOT_FOUND if this is to be believed: http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/archive/wuc.htm

I was using the IA9. There was a dependency in my installer that required MSVC++ Runtime 8.0 (2005) SP1 x64. My installer fell over when it tried to install that runtime silently or interactively. I rebuilt the installer using IA9 R2 and the problem went away.

Try upgrading to IA9?
