Runtime error after adding new dialog

Post by 5aclockshadow »

I just added a custom dialog, config.dfm. When I run the setup on the box w/ InstallAware it installs fine. When I run the setup on other boxes (tested compressed & uncompressed) I receive the following error:

Runtime error in install: Cannot open file
"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\mia5\config.dfm". The
system cannot find the file specified

I think I may have seen this before, all I did to fix it was reboot the InstallAware box, & rebuild the setups.

I tried that here but I still get this error.

Any thoughts???

Not sure what happened here or why I had to do this but I created a new setup from scratch and copied over all the files except for *.mpr & *.mpr.bak, and rebuilt and now all is good.

I just ran into this error again and I'm not sure what I did last time but this time the error was coming up because I skipped the following step when adding a new dialog:

Add the new dialog to the project by clicking on the MSIcode tab, in the left hand pane right click on Dialogs --> Add Dialogs to Project --> Select Choose Dialog to Add by File Name: and browse to the newly created dialog file in your project directory.

Just updating this post in case anyone else runs into this.
