Hi. I'm using Install Aware 7 wich comes with Delphi2010 version. During the build i'm having this error message:
Error during build: Unable to copy file to C:\temp\Instalador\Sis CRM\Release\Single\data\OFFLINE\IF293\D14D6526\GdiPlus.dll
I am only sending executable files (.exe) to the install project. After this error, I removed all the runtimes from the project and the error persists.
I eventried to delete the output folder but i get a message of Denied Access.
Don't know more what to do and would like some instructions about the solution of this.
Note: the dll's name varies depending of the runtime selected in my project, this last dll appears when all the runtimes are unchecked.
Here's the full build log:
Building Project: Sis CRM - Sistema de apoio a vendas

Re: Error during build progress
I would be more concerned about the file source. Verify first that the file can be found where it was originally pointed to or if you're installing files using wildcards that the file exists in the directory structure that is being referenced...
What edition of InstallAware are you using? Are you working primarily with the designer or MSIcode?

Re: Error during build progress
At first, thanks for the reply.
Answering your questions:
Verify first that the file can be found where it was originally pointed to
Just verified and found various references to this file, but the default directory is \System32 and the file is there. None of the files that appeared in the error message has the ready only attibute. I found something like this in this forum and already checked.
or if you're installing files using wildcards that the file exists in the directoanksry structure that is being referenced...
How can i verify this? Sorry :/
About the versions tried, firstly i tried in version 7, wich comes with Delphi 2010 distribution (express, correct-me if I'm wrong). After the problems I tried in the InstallAware Admin 9. In both the problem ocurred. I used only the Graphycal interface, nothing with MSI Code.
Cusiosly, when I generated the program for the first time, all worked fine. When tried to generate again the problems began.
Please, send me instructions XD. Thanks!

Re: Error during build progress
I ran a test, where I pointed to a file, then deleted it from disk and the result during compile was:
Error during build: No files matching pattern
So, that doesn't match what you're reporting.
I would wonder what build type you're trying to use and whether or not other builds work or not.
It might be worth posting your (zipped) project, just to look at the structure of it and see if I can see anything with it...
First, I would encourage you to first create a new project and do what you did again, trying to build it each step of the way (twice if needed to test, since you said it built the first time, but not after). Then, whatever you did last, report that as the potential bug.

Re: Error during build progress
Hello Mr. Mills,
I uninstalled and reinstalled InstallAware Admim 9 and opened the same project, with the same files and portuguese translated strings. Firstly I unchecked the MySQL runtime from my project, then built it in the uncompressed format. Build OK!
After this, I tried the compressed build. Build OK.
With everything working fine, I checked the .Net Framework 2.0 in the runtimes. Generated both uncompressed and compressed instalations. Build OK!
Then I checked and configured MySQL runtime. Build OK for both kinds. Only in the installation process the MySQL returned a configuration error, but I think it's my mistake and I'm verifying this.
But after the reinstallation of InstallAware I only unchecked the option to cache installation files. I noted that this was what prohibited me to delete the generated folder.
So, everything semms to be working fine. Thanks for the answers and your help!
Guess I owe you a beer, hehe.
