Setup very slow and hangs at C:\Config.MSI

Post by QooScho »

Hello
I am using IA 9 and make an Uncompressed Directory Layout Build. My test pc is an Vista VMware.
Build process speed is ok.
But when I try to start the Setup.exe it takes about 30-40 seconds until the Wizard opens.
Then after a while Setup wizard take very long at the point
File:C:\Config.MSI 6f8f2.rbf
The wizard window changes to "Not responding". Sometimes this is about 2-3 minutes! noting happens
Sometimes Install wizard breaks down without a warning

Any ideas?
kind regards

Dear Hansjoerg,

Is your setup very complex? You should maybe determine what they minimum requirements for running your setup are and set them in the Design view.

Dear Aviv,
thanks for help.

A problem could be that my drive C was less of memory. Now I have deleted old files and I have 3 GB free.
But something is strange anyhow.
If I start my Setup.exe nothing happens. I can see the Setup.exe in the taskmanager. Memory for Setup.exe begins at 300 MB and increase to 1,4 GB.
This takes alot of time. If 1,4 GB is reached the Wizard opens and I can start the Install prozess.

Any idea why Setup needs so much memory and why it takes so long?

regards

That memory refers to how much ram the setup is using, not how much disk space..
