Target Folder Ignored

Post by howstat »

I have just started using InstallAware Express 7 (the edition supplied with Delphi XE), and have encountered a number of issues.

Firstly, no matter what I enter in the Target Folder field, the Installation always shows C:\Program Files (x86)\$TITLE$ as the Destination Folder.

e.g. The title is set to "OC System" the Destination Folder is always shown as C:\Program Files (x86)\OC System.

I have read other posts on this subject which basically advise to enter the required destination folder in the Target Folder field. I have done this and it is just ignored.

Secondly, deselecting various dialogs in the User Interface->Dialogs area does not have any effect. All dialogs are shown regardless of whether they are selected or not.

I was pleased with the ease of using IntallAware to create an installation project, but if there is no control over these basic options it is pretty well useless.

Any help would be apppreciated.

Hi,

It sounds like you are maybe not saving / rebuilding / running the right project - are you using the InstallAware IDE?

Problem solved. Being used to the Delphi IDE, I was clicking the Run button believing that this first built the project (as it obviously did the first time I clicked it). Clicking one of the Build buttons first has fixed the problem.

Thanks for your help.
