Hi,
I'm not sure if this question been asked before, but I couldn't find any information regarding this. Currently we are evaluating IA so we can move from Wise to IA.
I am trying to create a Single EXE file. This fine will wrap another wise EXE file and drop the it to the desktop. so when user runs the file (from desktop) it will upgrade their current Package. This works, but the problem is it also creates a Key in registry which causes to show this upgrade as an application in control panel. We don't want this and I cant find a way to disable it so it wont create it in control panel, since this is an update file. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks so much in advance.

Dear User,
basically you would like to have that the InstallAware package only drops the wise EXE ... so should it be just a wrapper?

Dear User,
Actually with MSI installations the ARP registration is handled with Apply Install command execution. As you should already know, the effective install files execution is deferred to Apply Install execution.
So you can do the following using InstallAware NATIVE ENGINE feature.
Add at the very beginning of your script the following code to turn on the NATIVE ENGINE;
... and then remove from your code the Apply Install command (... you should remove Apply Uninstall, Apply Patch and Apply Advertised as well ... because you do not need these anymore).
The above statement causes the immediate execution of any Windows Installer commands.
Alternatively you could have a script that contains only the code necessary to copy your file:
Hope this helps you.

Install File xxxxxxxI suggest you also to follow the InstallAware documentation for more detailed information about NATIVE ENGINE. (press F1 in IA IDE).InstallAware includes a native code setup engine beginning with InstallAware version 10. The native engine complements Microsoft's Windows Installer setup engine and provides faster execution speeds and greater flexibility at runtime.
Hope this helps you.
