Ok

i tried. now im on not working again. Sorry


i want to delete 2 files in the Forlder mods

something.jar
something2.zip

So this is my way that i called it in the local files section:

$TARGETDIR$\mods\something.jar delete when installing
$TARGETDIR$\mods\something2.zip delete when installing

dont work for me.


in $TARGETDIR$ is set in Files Target Files *.* nad Sourcepath C:/MyProduct/



Target Folder in Product Information is set to $MYAPPDATA$\MyNameILiked (not §Title§)

Also my installation from Version 1.0.0.0 is web package loaded.
my Updates also based on web package and downloaded from Internet with Check for Updates.

where is the last bug?
Or did i missing a setting when im click biuld patch?

Dear René,

Honesltly, it is not very clear to me what you are doing.

First of all, if you have a look at the project I posted you, the file deletion command I added is within a " [compiler if Variable BUILDMODE Equals PATCH]" this means that " Delete Files $TARGETDIR$\test.txt (when installing)" is executed if the package running has been built as PATCH BUILD ONLY.

This because it is not necessary to delete that file if the package runs as a full update.
Due the fact that with a full update, any previous package version found installed on target system, it will be FIRST removed prior to proceed with the effective update package installation.

In other words if you are not executing a patch it not necessary to remove those file, because them should be already gone away with the previous package uninstall.

Ok now got it. Checked it.
But Version Number isnt updateable with patch i see.

Mhm.

Full Patch is for a 5GB Programm to much.


Comes the Feature with VersionNumber Update in Programs and Functions?

Unfortunately, it is a MSI patch limitation ... and can't be addressed by IA.
