Hi support,
One of my clients received the following error when upgrading his current version with a new version.
The source of the current package for the product xxxxxx is out of sync with the client package. Try the installation again with a valid copy of the installation package ‘xxxxxx.msi’”
What does this means? I can't find reference for it on google.
I re-checked the installer and it works fine on our environment.
Regards,
T.

Re: Error when upgrading
Dear Tzachk,
are you upgrading using a patch build?
Anyway, it means that the upgrade package you are running doesn't contain a valid reference for the installed MSI database application.
Generally, this happens when the patch project references list doesn't include a valid reference for the package build you are trying to upgrade.
Regards.

Re: Error when upgrading
Hi Francesco,
We do not use patch. We always uninstall and install during an upgrade.
We use the same installer for quite some time, and this is first time it happened.
Any ideas?
Regards,
Tzach

Re: Error when upgrading
Dear Tzach,
If this happens with a specific installation only, I can only suppose that probably the issue could be caused by an error with the OS.
May a corrupted OS or something else that has corrupted the MSI database for the already installed application.
For what I understand by your information, it is not possible to replicate the issue using another target machine. Am I wrong?
Regards.

Hi Francesco,
You are right. We can't replicate the issue elsewhere.

Dear Tzach,
... if so, I suppose the problem is caused by the OS.
