Dear Martin,
My sample project when builded, it embeds those runtimes internally (just build my project without any modification).
So, internet connection is not required.

Re: IA NX .NET 2.0 SP 2 does not install in Win 8
Hi again,
I did exactly what you wanted me to do. I built the setup project you sent in uncrompressed mode and copied it on the Windows 8 x86 Mashine.
But i still got the error "Please check your computer's Internet connection and choose Yes to try again.". I documented it in some Screenshots and added them as attachment here.
So for me it doesnt work at all...
Any ideas what i am doing wrong?
Thanks,
Martin

Dear Martin,
yes, you are right ... by mistake I haven't switched off my network connection while running the test.
Unfortunately, by design Win8 doesn't allow to install these runtimes in any other way.
You must have an Internet connection or the Win8 installation CD, because the installation of NET 2.0 or 3.5 are handled using Windows feature installation only.
I am sorry.

Re: IA NX .NET 2.0 SP 2 does not install in Win 8
Hi Francesco,
unfortunately that is exactly what I expected. Nice way from Microsoft to kill Prerequisiteinstallations from third party people like we are in this case.
We wanted to deliver the SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 as feature for running our delivered software on the local sql server. This workes from XP to Windows 7 but now we run into this kind of problem. It makes it impossible for us to get some single licensed demo version to run on a computer from John Doe.
One certain idea of creating a setup with prerequisites was to get it to work without network connection. Seams like we have to come to an internal decission what to do next.
Thanks anyway for the answers and the testproject,
Martin
