Hello!
I am using InstallAware 17 to install an application and am running into problems when IA tries to download or extract a dll from a 7zip folder, as specified in the Media Block Definition.
When I do a web deploy, I get a message saying this: "Extraction of installation data downloaded from the web has failed. What would you like to do?".
Regardless of the option I choose the same message is displayed till I hit Cancel. I am able to open this file successfully from the browser, using the path defined in the web media block definition. I came across several similar threads on the tech support page but couldn’t find a solution to the problem.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks!

Dear User,
which IA 17 version are you using?
If you are using an earlier IA version then 17.06, please try to upgrade to this last version.
Please NOTE! your personal license file must be re-generated to activate IA 17.06 and your Web media blocks files have to be rebuilt using IA 17.06 as well.
If you still have problem, please post a very minimal project that replicates the issue.
Regards

Re: Extraction of installation data from web has failed
I am using InstallAware 17 Build 9.20.13 of the Studio Admin edition.
Looks like it is fixed now - I had all the web media blocks set to "Do Not Build". I changed that to "Build" and that fixed it! Thanks!
I have one more question - I have no scripts under the SQL Databases folder, and yet I get a message saying each script defined in the code has been successfully run. Where is it getting the scripts from? Or how do I specify the correct SQL scripts to run? As an afterthought I add the scripts to the SQL Databases folder but these are still not the scripts that the application is running. So where does it get the scripts from? I haven't defined the file path for the scripts in code either.
Thanks!

Re: Extraction of installation data from web has failed
Dear User,
I'm not totally sure to precisely follow your question(s).
If you are referring to a MS Sql script that you want to execute with your setup at install time, just add it to Support Files in your IA project.
Then you can access to it using "SUPPORTDIR" IA pre-defined variable (please consult IA documentation for more details).

InstallAware uses support files at several places throughout the installation. Support files are not actually installed onto the target system, but they are part of the installation package. They are available temporarily while the installation is executing and are cleaned up when the installer finishes execution.
