Hello,
I'm currently trying to sign a large setup build in InstallAware10, but the sign process consistently fails. The file is 2.7Gb in size. Other builds get signed just fine, for example a 85Mb setup. Our certificate is current, and the paths to the pvk and spc files are the same as to the working setup.
Is there a file size limit for the Code Sign function? If not, any ideas what might be going wrong? Any help is appreciated.
Kind regards,
Ralf Schemmann
InstallAware10: Code Sign fails on large file
Re: InstallAware10: Code Sign fails on large file
Addendum: The code signing actually breaks the exe file. It can be run before the attempted signing, but afterwards Windows 7 says it is not a valid application.

Dear Uthoroc,
honestly, I really don't think that the problem you seem to have is caused by the IA engine iteself.
InstallAware uses internally the current WIN APIs available to apply the file signature.
These WIN APIs are the same used by the "signtool.exe" a Microsoft command line utility.
It could be intersting to know if the same happens using the above Sign Tool (... "authenticode" subfolder of the IA Install directory).

Yes, I have indeed just confirmed this. Ran SignTool.exe via command line with the same parameters, and I get the same result.
And here is the Microsoft help entry that I found with the error code that this returned.

... so it seems that there isn't to much to do on the IA side.

no problem.
It is better to leave it ... It can be useful to some other user.
