Hi,
one of our customers has the problem, that a file, contained in the setup cannot be found and the setup stops.
We send this customer the DVD containing the setup, advised hin to run it as admin, turn of Kasperysky... all did not help; the setup complains about the file and does not install.
the message is "Fehler beim Lsen der Datei: C:\ProgramData\{6904B~\OFFLINE\98E75DE0\749D9580\empty.gif. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Datei vorhanden ist und Sie darauf zugreifen können."
The folder C:\ProgramData\{6904B~\OFFLINE\ does not contain the mentioned subdirectory. I need a working(!) reliable way to get the software installed on the customers machine.
Regards
Anja

Re: "Error reading file..."
Dear Anja,
what you are reporting sounds to be the classic "AV" interference and in most cases, it's not enough to just disable or turn off the AV on the client machine.
it doesn't exist a sure remedy to use in order to prevent false positives or that a process gets altered/corrupted by an intrusive AV.
Of course a sure solution, it's to ask the AV software vendor to White list your packages/applications in their databases.
Last but not least, it's always recommend to digitally sign the package along all installed files (if you haven't already).
Just this simple practice "may" solve the problem.
Hope this helps you.
