MDAC 2.81 installation fails under XP SP1

Hi there,

using the latest version 6.42 I noticed, that the installation of MDAC 2.81 Refresh fails under Windows XP SP1. The same setup runs on Windows 98SE without any problems. Setups created with a previous version of IA 6.42 installs the MDAC 2.81 under Windows XP SP1.

Are there any changes known about the MDAC 2.81 installation?

Actually, no:

1. 2.81 is *not* available as a redist for XP SP1.
2. 2.8 *is* available as a redist for this platform.
3. Only XP SP2 can install 2.81 on XP SP1.
