Hello!
I am using InstallAware X4. I recently installed ZoneAlarm on my development PC. This caused InstallAware to stop working.
After installation of ZoneAlarm, miae.exe and miabuild.exe do nothing, they only enter a perpetual idle loop just after starting up and can only be terminated using Task Manager.
I examined the behavior of those programs at startup and noticed that they check for the presence of a certain dll in the ZoneAlarm endpoint security EFR directory and - if that dll is present - enter an idle loop. When the dll in question is renamed or removed, InstallAware editor and command line builder again start up and work normally.
My question is: for what purpose is this behavior implemented, and how can the problem be avoided without crippling ZoneAlarm?
Regards, Pentti

Unfortunately, there isn't so much to do.
Such Anti-Virus is altering the runtime process. There are various DLLs that needs to be loaded ...and NONE of these can be skipped to load.
