We've got our installer script files under source control as I'm sure many others do. But the actual installer files are not very useful when it comes to working out what has changed between versions. Manually saving the "copy as text" output is much more useful, but, well, it's manual. Meaning that developers usually forget to do it until they discover a problem, and then we have to run back through changelists syncing to different versions and generating the text files before we can diff them. As well, Finalbuilder can't automate this except via the awful work-around of using TestComplete to drive the GUI.
Is there something I'm missing?
What I'd really like is a command line switch that said "save text in file {name}", either as a separate action or just when doing a build.
