URGENT - Finish Dialog does not stay on top on Vista

Post by antoinebrunel »

Hello!

I have noticed that the Finish Dialog appears goes to the background. So I've changed the setting FormStyle to fsStayOnTop. This works for XP, but not for Vista!
My managers are pressurizing to solve this.

Thank you for your help

Finish Dialog goes to the background in Vista

Post by antoinebrunel »

Hello,

It has been 2weeks without any reply in the support forum.
I've been creating 2 installers for 2 software of the company. Customers are complaining that the last dialog disappear in the background. The behaviour is identical with Installaware 7 and 8. I do not remember Installshield had this problem.
Could you please help me find a solution for this?

Finish Dialog goes to the background in mystery Vista

Post by antoinebrunel »

Hello again,

I got a reply from the installaware support team stating it was a Vista problem, I'm quite surprised ... For all programmers that we are, Vista's awful reputation makes it the perfect culprit ;)

I just can't understand why going from the non-modal progressprereq to the modal welcome dialog makes the welcome dialog stay on top (as stated in fromStyle property) and going from the non-modal progress dialog to the modal finish dialog makes the finish dialog go to the background (also stated in fromStyle property).

Furthermore, if I replace the welcome dialog in lieu of the finish dialog in the code at the end of the installation, it works well, I mean the welcome dialog stays on top, so this is not a coding problem and there is definitely something going wrong with the finish dialog itself.

Any idea?

Thanks for your help
