Dialog Editor

Post by paul.fitzpatrick@avondata »

Can I use an animated GIF on the progressprereq and progress dialogs? If so, how can I do this?

Alternatively, I notice that you can use a flash image, if this is my only option to show any type of animation or presentation (without using html and the web?) If so, does it need to be a particular version of flash? And will the end user need to have flash pre-installed to view the presentation?

Thanks

Hi Paul,

The best bet is to use Flash as this gives you more flexibility.

End users do not need to have the Flash runtime installed.

You should target version 6 for the swf to work in InstallAware.

I have created my movie.swf file in Flash CS3, and saved it as a flash file in version 6, added it my creatives area (which added a flash.ocx file).

This does not work? The flash screens come up blank - What could I be doing wrong? Do I need to create a particular flash project type and convert to flash version 6 or should I target a particular action script version too?

Any help would be graciously received.

Afraid there is little to go on with your information provided ... can you submit your fla file through our support system?

This problem is a caused by a setting in the FlashFrame, all I did was double click on FlashFrame which opened a settings page; then you change the Receives Information drop down to display 'Installation Billboards'
