Prevent user from canceling set update time?

Post by JeffTucker »

My setup asks the user to enter his credentials for creation of the task scheduler item to check for updates at intervals. Is there some way I can prevent him from canceling out of that dialog? We really need that scheduler item to run.

Work around found, but all users notification is lacking

Post by JeffTucker »

We removed the system menu and took out the cancel button so they are forced to enter the UserName at least.

However, it appears from our testing that only the user that installed ever gets notification of the update. Is there any way that all users can get notification?

Hi Jeff,

In theory this should be possible, but you will need to alter the placement of the Update start command (if my memory serves, this is an entry in the Windows Startup folder). You can alter the updates.mia script to acheive this.
