1. The problem is that the so created shortcuts are not being deleted on uninstall. What did I do wrong?
Was a solution found to this problem, i appear to have run into this myself. I was using the native engine to be able to use variables in the shortcut name and when i come to uninstall it doesnt work.
I received your project. I have a quick question - why are you not using the Native Engine in your installer? Why are you switching to it just to install the shortcuts?
Yes I am using the MSI Engine cause I have not much experience with the Native Engine. Also the product manager will not change the whole (already working) setup project cause in this case we will have to take more time for testing.
I only would like to take advantage of the possobility to use icons for shortcuts on the target system. Thats why I only use native engine for the shortcuts. I think it is possible to switch between the two engines all the time, isn't it?
I could solve my problem with the missing icons for shortcuts. I now simply leave the icon path and index field empty and so the standard icon of the exe is of use. So I don't need native code for shortcuts anymore
