Greetings All.
InstallAware 11 Developer.

Here is a pick.

We use to install our app in predefined folder c:\OurApp

Now we install it into c:\Program Files\Our App Name (please note the spaces)

At the end of the script, we running couple "Run Program" one of them setacl.exe with several switches to modify our installation folder security

so it's use to be:
.........................................................
Set Variable TARGETDIR to "c:\OurApp"
..........................................................
Set Persistent Variable VARSETACL to 1
Run Program $TARGETDIR$\setacl.exe c:\OurApp /dir /set S-1-1-0 /full /sid (WAIT, get result into variable VARSETACL)
if Variable VARSETACL not Equals 0
MessageBox: $TITLE$ Setup Error, Permission to install directory is not granted. Please see you system administrator.
end
..........................................................

I changed to something like:
Run Program $TARGETDIR$\setacl.exe $TARGETDIR$ /dir /set S-1-1-0 /full /sid (WAIT, get result into variable VARSETACL)


well it's failing now because of the spaces, i try to mod the script to add quotes, declare and assigh variable but ....

Can some please help and point me to the right direction. I also facing same problem with "Command Line Parameters" in one of our shortcuts, running $TARGETDIR$\setacl.exe to change security manually.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Which spaces are you referring to exactly? The ones in TARGETDIR?

$TARGETDIR$\setacl.exe $TARGETDIR$ /dir /set S-1-1-0 /full /sid

setacl.exe inspecting name of the folder to be Modified, it use to be c:\OurApp and it was working fine, now it's a c:\Program Files\Our App Name

Attached screenshot shows an example of a simple test. My variable $FRED$ is quoted and it seems to work okay with or without spaces. I admit it's basic but it might give you a pointer in the general direction?
