Hi Team
We are using InstallAware 9 and currently using WebUpdates feature to automatically download the newly released version from the Web through User intervention i.e. when User click on Update icon IW checks for the available version to upgrade
Now the user wants: The application should check once a week to see if there is a new version available from the auto update server and if so, a prompt should appear on the server advising the users that a new version is available and prompting them to upgrade.
Although based on my understanding this is possible through Schedule Tasks option in InstallAware but what we are exactly looking for is that the Installation should not get triggered automatically but it should prompt the User that updates are available and if user want to install it then he/she need to click on the popup bubble.
Can someone please confirm how this can be possible to have windows like update feature?
Thanks
Ramendra

Re: Auto Update feature like Windows Update
Dear Ramendra,
you can define with Task parameters how your scheduled Update have to be executed.
Of course you can indicate if the task have to run interactively on the users desktop and leaving users to re-define how prefers.
I suggest to you to have a look to InstallAware documentations (Press F1 in IA IDE), searching for:
- Web Updates
- Schedule Task
