IA 18: File association in Windows 8

Postby munderhill » Tue Jan 28, 2014 6:41 am

My setup associates our file extension with the executable (no icon number specified) installed. It works in all our tested cases except Windows 8 Enterprise (only version of Windows 8 tested). Is there something special that I need to do in Windows 8 to get the file association working? If I setup the association via Windows, it works fine.

Just tested with Win8 Pro and the file association works. So it seems to be limited to Win 8 Enterprise edition.

Dear User,

which IA version are you using?

Using IA 18 I am able to define a file association in Win 8 without any problem.

IA 18, but did you try Windows 8 Enterprise? Did you create an install and then install it on the aforementioned OS? Please send me the setup.exe and I will test in our environment.

Dear User,

Honestly, I tested in Win 8 ... but I suppose it was not an Enterprise edition (... the OS core is quite the same ... so I don't understand why it should not work with this particular edition).

Anyway, I'll prepare a test setup for you.
