Convert SID

This command is used to convert between user or group names and SIDs.

Variable

Enter the name of the variable to convert here.

User name to SID

Check this radio button to convert a given user or group name to a SID.

SID to user name

Check this radio button to convert a given SID to a group or a user name.

The returned user name will always include the name of the computer the account exists on, such as DEVICE\USER.

The returned group name will always include the name of the domain the group exists on, such as BUILTIN\GROUP.

 Notes

• You may use the Parse String command to extract the names returned by this command, independent of their host container.
