Upgrading from InstallAware X17

Upgrading setups created in InstallAware X17 to InstallAware X18 is automatic.

However, the consideration below applies while working with older projects:

• Setups bundling .NET 8 and .NET 8 runtime versions other than those included in the latest version of InstallAware may need to bundle the latest available versions of the particular runtimes instead, unless the legacy runtimes are saved before the upgrade. References to older runtime versions may be deleted in the script editor, or in the visual IDE if the project may be edited before upgrading the IDE to the latest version.
• When using Instant Extraction technology in manual extraction mode (by setting the pre-defined compiler variable #MIN_EXTRACT# to MANUAL), your extraction code must be revised to specify the default encryption password value of InstallAware. Please see the updated code below and review the notes in this topic for additional details.
