InstallAware Kicks Off 30-Day Conversion Program for InstallShield and Wise Customers

More and More Software Developers Choose InstallAware Over InstallShield and Wise

San Francisco, CA, January 30 2006 – After a highly-successful pilot program, InstallAware Software Corporation today announced the formal kickoff of a 30-day program to convert users of legacy software installation products to the fastest-growing installation solution on the market today. From now until March 1st, 2006 users of InstallShield, Wise, and ZeroG who convert to InstallAware will receive 30 days of free project-conversion support, and will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a free iPod shuffle.

Initial response to the InstallAware Conversion Program has been very positive. “We are currently seeing five times the interest in InstallAware, in year-over-year growth, says Michael Nesmith, Director of Operations at InstallAware Software Corporation. “Developers are looking for a product that is intuitive, reliable, and up-to-date — both in technology and in appearance. They are voting with their feet, and moving towards InstallAware at a rapid pace.”

Thomas Tomiczek, Microsoft MVP and founder of PowerNodes Corporation, notes “I consider InstallShield to be far too unreliable to use. Plus, at this point Wise still doesn’t support .NET 2.0. We had to ship with .NET 2.0 support in January. We chose InstallAware.” InstallAware released the .NET 2.0 Framework preinstall only 48 hours after Microsoft’s official release.

Software consultants are delighted with InstallAware’s genuine Windows Installer scripting capabilities. “Being a Wise Installation System user for many years, it is great to find a company that carries the same scripting paradigm into the Windows Installer world. I’m very glad I switched” states independent software consultant Serge Dosyukov, who migrated from Wise Installation System to InstallAware.

Panagiotis Kefalidis, an independent software consultant, is very happy to have switched to InstallAware, and adds: “The Wise website has not been updated in nearly two years. InstallShield has become a sales platform for DRM technologies, yet is still flagging in reliability. Two patches had to be released for InstallShield 11.5 immediately after launch. The future of both products is uncertain and I see InstallAware as the only long-term viable solution in the installation space.”

Evaluators are also surprised by InstallAware’s industry-leading support “As a recent InstallShield convert, I've been very impressed with the quick responses to questions,” hails Joel Hess, a Software Engineer from Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

“Users switching to InstallAware find a more-refined, more-advanced, easier-to-use Windows Installer solution, and the stellar service to back it,” says J. Greenfield, Vice President of Marketing at InstallAware. “We offer a better value, higher reliability, an unbeatable feature set, and extreme ease of use. Plus, our support staff is happy to talk to you without demanding a credit card number first. It’s a winning combination for more and more software developers and consultants alike.”

InstallAware is available in four editions, with prices starting at US$199. A time limited trial and more information is available at http://www.installaware.com/.
