MS requires registration to redistribute SQL Express?

Postby keith » Fri Sep 14, 2007 12:19 pm

Hello,

According to Microsoft (http://www.microsoft.com/sql/editions/e ... ister.mspx) developers are supposed to register with them to have redist rights to SQL Express.

What if I'm using the SQL Express plugin from IA? Is IA registered and am I covered in this case? Do I even need to be worried about this?

You have to register at Microsoft to be legal.

Thanks for the reply; I'll start that ball rolling.

In the mean time, can I get an "official" response from IA on this? Perhaps a link to a FAQ or statement regarding SQL registration?

Thanks!

Hehe, trust me, my opinion/word is as official as an InstallAware's representative on issues like this. If it wasn't ok, i would myself prompt you to wait for an official post!
