I had trouble with an install I created and SQExpress and REportViewer would not install (Prerequisites). No errors as to why. I am wondering if these 2 install require internet connection to install, and if they do how can I change this so that an internet connection is not needed?
I was able to install SQL Server manually by downloading the install from the SQLExpress site and it installed successfully. I did get a warning that the computer it was being installed on did not meet minimum requirements, but it did install and the program ran fine. Maybe this was why the SQLExpress installed failed when run from InstallAware. If so, is there any way to tell SQLExpress to not do the minimum hardware check by using a command line parameter?
I was able to run the reportViewer install from the IntallAware disk by going directly to the reportviewer directory and running the install manually. Makes it even stranger that it would not install when using the installAware intallation program. Any insight on why this would not install would be helpful.
Any insight into any of these questions would be greatly appreciated.
Pre-requisite Question

The main reason is this only happened on 1 install and it is customers computer (so InstallAware is not on that computer, so I cannot debug). I used the same install on another computer that had internet connection and the install worked fine.
When I meet IA issues, generally I will fire up a Virtual PC 2007 image of test system which contains a clean OS, then I can start testing if my installer runs OK. You may try if your installer runs well on a clean OS first.
Using a clean Virtual PC image with Undo disk enabled you can install once, close the OS and delete all changes. Then when you launch the OS again and see it remains clean.
Do tests both with Virtual PC network connection enabled and disabled, you can see if the issue is caused by network connection.
