Language after a Reboot and Resume

Postby VincentPL » Mon Oct 22, 2007 2:18 pm

I have a problem with my multi-language setup...
- It's a Web Deploy Build with all content OFFLINE.
- I have a Prerequise that need to reboot and resume
- But before the PreRequise install I must show a custom Welcome Screen where the user can choose and set the LANGUAGE variable in order to show the informations in the right language.

My problem is after a reboot, the language is not remembered and it seems that I can't backup the language selection (before Reboot and resume) and then restoring the language (After reboot and resume)...

I juste don't want the user to choose twice is language... simple no ?

Please help me !!!!!

If you read in the help file about the command Reboot and Resume, you will find out that "This command will reboot the target system, after safely exiting the installation. It will then restart the installation from the beginning." However, what you can do, is before the Reboot and Resume command, write the selected language to a Text File, check for the file existence at the begining of the instalation, if it exists, set the LANGUAGE variable to the content of the file. Remember to delete the file at the end of the instalation. That is a good workaround.

Yes thank you it works great. Meanwhile I figured out too with Write Registry persist PlugIn. I think that the file method will be more safe than using the registry...

Again, thank you. This is a good product and we are happy to move from Wise to this product.
