Merge Module Fails

Postby Robert » Fri Dec 07, 2007 2:01 pm

Hi,

I am using a 2 merge modules from autodesk that fails on install. I have attached one of them for review.

I have contacted autodesk and they are saying that the problem is that do not work with you product specifically.

Is there a way to resolve this issue? I have tried just the merge module itself and as part of my install but I am still having problems.

Thanks,

Robert,

Can you post a URL where I can download the merge module so I can create a sample project? I will check what the problem may be.

Hi,

Thanks for response.

I have posted one of the files here:

http://www.tartus.com/download/OdbxCore17glob.zip

Just unzip and you will have the merge modules.

Thanks,

Robert

Robert,

It appears that the Merge module is trying to create registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\Applications\\SceneOE
instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\Applications\\SceneOE.

There is a double back slash that is causing the error. Please contact autodesk and let them know this.

Thanks for reply.

How do I make that change myself?

I have posted a response to my rep there and see what he says, but I have funny feeling they are not willing to make the change.

I will let you know what I hear.

Thanks

Robert

Edit the merge module with Orca. In the registry table, look for the entry where it is trying to write key:
[ODBXHOSTAPPREGROOT]\\Applications\\SceneOE

and change it to [ODBXHOSTAPPREGROOT]Applications\\SceneOE

That should do it
